Welcome to oaklandairfield.org – a tribute to the Golden Age of Aviation in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Currently, the Web site offers scans of the 318- page Oakland Airport Pilot Register, which documented flights by visiting pilots between September 1927 and August 1938.

Some of the pilots who visited Oakland are still famous, including Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh, some pilot biographies can be found online, but most are waiting to be rediscovered. All were risk takers – there is a reason they wore parachutes.

You can search our database here, and in-depth histories similar to the other Registers on the dmairfield.org Web site. If you have information you would like to share about any of the pilots, planes, or events documented in the Register we would love to hear from you. Contact us here.
